Alan Gfeller Bio (Source: 2022 MC Holiday Party Program)
Alan’s career with Murray Company began in 1980, when MC was a small plumbing company on Broadway Street in Gardena. As was the case with most companies at the time, many people wore many hats and performed various daily tasks. Alan’s job description was no exception. His daily tasks included, facility maintenance, shipping/receiving, truck driver, and small tool inventory and maintenance. Murray Company then relocated to the current Victoria Street address and in 1996, Alan was promoted to Warehouse Supervisor. Initially, Alan’s primary responsibilities included warehouse management, inventory management, shipping/receiving small tool repair – inventory control, and facility maintenance. With expansion and growth came changes, including needed supervision and the associated staffing requirements. Murray Company looked to promote a Warehouse Supervisor from within and after some meetings and insight into the growing-company’s needs, the only employee willing take on these elevated responsibilities was Alan. Based on his employment history, work ethic, and his can-do attitude, the choice was made easy. As Murray Company has continued to grow, Alan and his skills have adapted, and grown with it. Throughout the past 40 years, Alan has never ceased to exemplify the definition of dedication. Hard work and loyalty is a gift not everyone possesses. But you got it, Alan, and we are honored to have you. Keep up your excellent work and continue to inspire us—cheers to all your 40 years of service!
