Murray Company Apprentices Podium at the State Apprentice Competition in Vacaville, CA

Murray Company was a proud sponsor of the May 16-18, 2023 State Apprentice Competition in Vacaville, California at which the goal is for apprentices across the state to showcase their abilities, knowledge and refined skills acquired through dedicated training in their apprenticeship. This will be demonstrated by competing in hands-on projects and written assessments that illustrate union excellence in the disciplines of Plumbing, Pipefitting, Welding, HVAC-R & Sprinkler Fitting. This contest is hosted by a California Local each year to determine the contestants to represent CA in the District 5 Regional Apprentice Contest.  The regional contest is scheduled for June 13-15, 2023 in Las Vegas and will be hosted by Local 525.

Several Murray Company apprentices took part in this State Apprentice Competition. The scoring criteria includes points for safety, planning, reading drawings, etc.  In total 72 contestants participated from 26 Locals in California.

General Superintendent James Adamson shares,

“A big congratulations to our guys up north for a BIG representation for Murray Company. I would like to share that eligibility begins for this competition at 3rd year status and ends at 5th year status. Aspiring tradesmen should contact their direct supervisor and union hall for sign up details……we definitely want to make a push for Murray Company presence in these competitions. This competition is the 2nd annual following the pandemic and was sorely missed and strongly valued as an industry.”
