Travis Farley Receives Special Recognition @ McCarthy’s Skechers Topping Out Celebration

In 2019, Murray Company was called upon by McCarthy Building Companies to deliver the plumbing scope on four brand new 3-story office buildings spanning 300,000 SF over three levels of subterranean parking – the Skechers Project on the border of Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach.

Fast forward 4 years since the ground breaking and three (3) buildings have already been completed with “Building 3001” currently under construction. To celebrate the final concrete pour on this final structure, Murray Company attended the McCarthy-hosted Topping Out Celebration on Friday, June 9^th. All the trade workers enjoyed a hosted taco lunch and awesome raffle. Ruben Rivera, one of McCarthy’s craft workers was overjoyed winning Dodger tickets donated by Murray Company. He was incredibly grateful and thanked Murray Company for the experience he will afford his family this summer.

McCarthy announced some special recognitions during the lunch hour one of which called out Murray Company’s very own Foreman, Travis Farley. Upon introducing the award, one of McCarthy’s team leaders shared some insight. He said that Travis has an exemplary attitude and commands great respect on the site. He reflected, when on a Saturday, Travis rallied his crew of 12 and brought donuts. Despite it being a weekend, he stayed committed to remaining safe and productive. He kicked the day off with stretch & flex and executed the day’s tasks flawlessly. From day one, he has always pre-planned his work and has earned the respect that he gets from the GC and all the trade partners.

Safety Manager Beatrice Denning, Foreman Travis Farley, General Super Ruben Garcia and Director of Engineering, William Hearon, call out the obvious. Congrats, Travis!

McCarthy’s MEP Trade Manager added, “Travis has been very helpful with coordinating and executing everything on site and working well with every trade contractor. He always gets the job done and has a great attitude. He’s focused on safety while being personable as well. To know him personally has been a privilege. It’s a great pleasure working with Travis. Thank you for the hard work.”

A wave of applause and whistles followed. Travis enjoyed first dibs in making a raffle selection and went home with a 70” TV!
