Kudos from MMJV to Team Murray Company for 1.6 Million Manhours with No Safety Incidents at the Gaylord Project in Chula Vista

Kudos from MMJV to Team Murray Company for 1.6 Million Manhours with No Safety Incidents at the Gaylord Project in Chula Vista

The Executives at the MMJV (Mortenson and McCarthy Building Co Joint Venture) at the Gaylord Project in Chula Vista couldn’t be more proud and more satisfied with the trade partners they hand-selected for this mega hospitality project.  Their selections are a testament to the reputation that preceded each trade partner, their expansive resumes and undeniable safety culture which have collectively played out onsite since the project broke ground in 2022.  Today, we’re 1.6 million hours in with zero safety incidents – statistics that are worthy of a standing ovation! Check out the progress photos below showing what transpired in the span of a year.

PX Andrew Corson shared a poignant email with all the project trades last month which VP of Operations Harley Hall passed along to the MC team member this email indirectly addressed including Jacob Pessa, Ryan Sperry, James Adamson, August DeHart, Brett Jones and the stellar field crew going back to day 1 (which today stands at 60 craftsmen).

Subject: Happy Holidays from the MMJV Team

Happy Holidays Everyone,

The MMJV team wanted to take a quick moment to send out a thank you and a Happy Holidays message to everyone working on the Gaylord Pacific project.  It has been a tremendous honor and great experience to work with all of you over the past 18+ months in an effort to complete this monumental project that will have a profound impact on the Chula Vista area for decades to come.  The photos below show the progress that we have made over the past year, and it is nothing short of incredible!  On top of that, we are currently at about 1.6 million Workhours put into the project so far with a tremendous safety record.  1.4 million of those hours were in the last 12 months.  This kind of safety record is only possible with EVERY person involved in the project buying into working safely.

Earlier this week, Ira Mitzner, CEO of RIDA Development spoke about the partnership that has been established between RIDA, MMJV and all the trade partners on the project.  They are extremely grateful and impressed by the job that everyone is doing to execute this extremely challenging project, especially in the challenging times that we are all living in.

Happy Holidays, and thank you all for your hard work, partnership and dedication to the project and each other.  We truly appreciate it and hope everyone can spend some well-earned time with their families, friends and loved ones over the holiday season.  Please pass this along to everyone on your teams that may not be included on this message.
