Fab Shops Celebrate 11 Years and 4,015 Days of No Lost Time Injuries

Fab Shops Celebrate 11 Years and 4,015 Days of No Lost Time Injuries

July 2, 2024 was no ordinary day here at Murray Company.  It was date that marked exactly 11 years – to the day – of NO LOST TIME INJURIES across all of Murray Company’s Fab Shops. This translates to 4,015 days of zero lost time due to any kind of injury or setback.  In response to this feat, and because we place such a high priority on our safety culture, and deeply value the commitment demonstrated by all our fabrication crews, Corporate Safety Director Justin Myburg orchestrated a celebratory lunch on July 3rd.  This year’s generous food truck sponsor was one of Murray Company’s vendors/suppliers, Ferguson, to whom we are most grateful.

Lunch was provided by Chef Chris Tzorin and his food truck, The Taste Collective.  You might recognize the name from the television program “Next Level Chef” on Fox on which Chef Chris appeared alongside British celebrity chef and restaurateur, Gordon Ramsay. He has also been featured on the Food Network and other channels and cooking shows.

As the MC office personnel piggy-baked on this lunch invitation, a raffle was held for the fab crews in the John W. Odom Training Center.  Branch offices including NorCal and San Diego tuned in via video conferencing to the brief presentation and raffle led by Justin Myburg, and Safety Admin, Katie Tornblom.  President/CEO Jim DeFlavio was in attendance in support of this signifant company milestone.

SoCal President Ryan Cavanaugh addressed his audience,

“You’re the heart and soul of this fab shop, all of you guys – you make it happen every day and it doesn’t go without notice.  Jim DeFlavio, Justin Myburg, and I…all of us…we’re so proud of you guys. You are the engine, the caboose, the whole train…what we deliver in the field starts here… you guys are building it, putting it together – safely.  There’s amazing work happening out here.  Have a happy 4th.  We appreciate you all.”

Justin Myburg kept his closing remarks light-hearted, short and sweet,

“Happy 4th of July weekend everyone. Make sure you keep your fingers and see you Monday.”

Justin Myburg collaborated with Marketing Coordinator and graphic designer Kristen Steffey to design this custom t-shirt that each crew member received.
