Topping Out Ceremony at the LA Chargers Training Facility – Plumbing, HVAC and Civil

Topping Out Ceremony at the LA Chargers Training Facility – Plumbing, HVAC and Civil

The LA Chargers Training Facility in El Segundo is making great progress, touching down and checking off  many project milestones. Our project team and some office Execs attended the Chargers Training Facility Topping Out Ceremony on Wednesday, November 16th.  The final structural beam was lifted and put in place, marking the end of one phase of construction and the beginning of another.

The PCL Construction project team showed up in full force as did various representatives from the Chargers NFL team, owners, architects, and the like including Murray Company Vice President Jason Tendler, VP of Engineering Gabe Hernandez and MEP Manager Mike Galindo.  A BBQ lunch was served for several hundred craftworkers who thoroughly enjoyed the break on this gorgeous and sunny day.

Murray Company is providing civil utilities, design-build mechanical and plumbing for this new 145,000 SF, 3-story building that houses the Players, Coaches, Football and Business Operations, including offices, meeting rooms, medical & rehab facilities, a media center, full kitchen and Lux Club.

Civil utility scope: Over 2 miles of underground utilities including sewer, storm, industrial waste, fire water, domestic water, irrigation, and natural gas. This scope also includes (4) drainage collection cisterns totaling 85,000 gallons that retain water from rainfall so it can be used for irrigation.

Gensler is the architect and Henderson Engineers the MEP Engineer.  The team members handling Murray Company’s scope include:
