Intuit Dome Project Team Meets with Congresswoman Maxine Waters at Community Outreach Event

Intuit Dome Project Team Meets with Congresswoman Maxine Waters at Community Outreach Event

PDA Consulting Group, a community engagement consulting firm, hosted a special event on Friday, May 26th in the City of Inglewood in connection with the Clippers Arena project, otherwise known as the Intuit Dome, at which general contractor AECOM Turner called upon Murray Company to deliver plumbing services.  We gladly obliged.

Under the stewardship of PDA’s Job Coordinator Mya Thomas, around 60 Inglewood residents attended this Community Engagement/Employment event in the hopes of meeting with contractor like Murray Company, Morrow Meadows, and others, to learn about job opportunities in the Inglewood zip code.

Representing the plumbing trade (from the Intuit Dome project) were General Superintendent Jason Hernandez, General Foreman Allan J. Gfeller Jr., General Foreman Ryan Schoening and UA Local 78 Organizer Hector Ruiz.  Our team met with these local residence, handed out flyers and encouraged the exploration of careers in the plumbing trade.

The attendees enjoyed a special VIP appearance by Congresswoman Maxine Waters who took this speaking opportunity to present the SBWIB, the South Bay Workforce Investment Board (which is essentially a workforce development board) with a $500,000 check.  Mrs. Waters encouraged her audience to remain vigilant, curious and tireless in their professional pursuits.

Mya Thomas shares with Murray Company,

As always thank you for all of your help and ongoing support in the Inglewood community. I have attached the flyer that was provided to me by the South Bay Workforce, which is one of our main partners on this project. Congresswoman Maxine Waters has allocated more funding to help assist with MC3 programs and will be in attendance at the orientation. I hope this will be a way for your company to have a photo opportunity and highlight your efforts so far at the Intuit Dome.
