Murray Company has much to celebrate and be proud of, in fact, a celebratory safety parade is probably in order! At a recent member meeting, the Northern California Mechanical Contractors Association (of which Murray Company NorCal is an active contractor member) presented Murray Company with the 2023 Safety Excellence Award – 1st Place Award for the Lowest Recordable Incident Rate in 2023 in the category of 500,000+ Man Hours.
This Safety Excellence Award was received by NorCal President Terry James and serves as evidence of the unwavering focus we put on safety as a company. This hyperfocus on safety starts at the top and trickles down across all levels, and all branches of the company.
What is TRIR?
The Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) is a metric that measures the number of work-related incidents that occur per 100 full-time employees in a given time frame, usually a year. It’s a tool used by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to assess a company’s safety performance and compare it to other companies in the same industry.
We understand that when employees feel safe, they are more likely to engage, remain motivated, be productive and wholeheartedly committed to Murray Company’s mission and vision. Corporate Safety Director Justin Myburg, and all of his supporting Safety Managers and personnel, are backed by Leadership, who together play a critical role in fostering a culture of safety, implementing effective programs with a focus on operational efficiency, MC’s reputation & trust. Collectively, these demonstrate a commitment to making safety a priority every day.
Together, they set the tone that safety is a core value of this organization which is then proven in awards like this.
A sincere Thank You to everyone at Murray Company including NorCal President Terry James (who also serves as a NCMCA Board Member), the entire office crew and field crews for doing their part in ensuring that safety remains a staple in your workday, every day.
