Erin Sazegar is excited about her future at MC. “The piping industry has allowed me to develop skills to sustain myself and my family for the future.”, she says.
Nor Cal’s Tammy Chan shares, “My father had the “I’ll teach you how to do it” rather than “I’ll fix it for you” mentality. This is probably where I was nurtured into pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering.”

While the construction industry is still a male-dominated field, women like Meredith Biscornet are making moves. Meredith realigned her path from Operations as a PM to her new role as HVAC Preconstruction Lead.
They say if opportunity comes knocking, build a door. Senior Project Engineer Danielle Dragon did just that when starting her new career in construction some time after acquiring a Mechanical Engineering degree at San Francisco State University.
“While in school acquiring my mechanical engineering degree I would have never imagined that one day, the construction industry, is where I’d find my home. The last couple of years have been full of opportunity, growth, and personal development.”
Although less than 10% of the construction workforce is comprised of women, the statistics are slowly beginning to shift thanks to young women like Trysten Lucero. She’s driven, determined and on a mission to overturn stigmas…
“Construction provides me a career full of changing scenery & unique conditions with every project. It’s rewarding to make a living visualizing spatial & mechanical solutions and see them materialize before your eyes”, says Virginia.
