Murray Company Set Up Shop at the LAX Aviation Museum for ACE LA/OC’s Trades Day

Murray Company Set Up Shop at the LAX Aviation Museum for ACE LA/OC’s Trades Day

Murray Company was invited by the ACE LA/OC organization to participate in LAX Trades Day this past Saturday, January 25th that took place at the LAX Aviation Museum.  We graciously accepted the offer; Murray Company was represented by Foreman Kyle Alvarez and General Foreman Tony Holodnak.

ACE LA/OC is an organization that provides high school students with many opportunities throughout the year from events like this, mentorship, resources and education/training to discover and learn about opportunities within the AEC industry (Architecture, Engineering and Construction).  In fact, to date, 1,500 students have gone through the ACE program and over $2K was awarded in scholarships.

At this specific Trades Day, 300 students rolled up in school buses while a few companies came out to play including GC’s Hensel Phelps and PENTA and trade partners like GEC2, Brymax Construction, Morrow Meadows, GGG Demolition, UA Local 433, Nevell Group and Murray Company.

Each company set up a booth with various promotional giveaways and hands-on activities where students got to ask questions and get a peek into what the host company specializes in; how they fit into the big picture.

At the Murray Company booth, students tried cutting cast iron pipe with snap cutters, crimping pro press fittings and bending 1/4″ and 3/8″ copper pipe with tube benders.

We are excited to have had the opportunity to inspire the next generation of builders!
