Murray Company’s Underground Division has a lot to smile about as, yet again, their team was recognized for their outstanding work and quick response to a situation at LAX, specifically, at the Midfield Satellite Concourse project. LAWA (Los Angeles World Airports) presented Foreman Robert Ayala, Laborer Raul Montes, Laborer Jesus Lopez, Laborer Juan Lopez and Laborer Omar Sanchez with the “Caught in the Act” Safety Award.
Here’s the scoop, as shared by Safety Manager Travis Trumbo:
“Robert Ayala and his team are being recognized by LAWA for their ability to execute the LAX MSC Project’s action emergency plan flawlessly. Robert did such a great job dispatching his guys to flag for the ambulance, our Murray flaggers were able to intercept, and redirect the ambulance to the correct location where our Murray employee was having a personal (medical) incident. Robert Ayala demonstrated his ability to be a great leader by making the area safe, protecting the employee, and communicating with everyone without any hesitation or delay.”
This informal awards ceremony took place on Thursday, February 29th at the “LAWA Program Wide Safety Meeting” just outside LAX at which Daniel Perez, LAWA’s Program Safety Manager presented our crew with their respective plaques. Here’s a snip-it from the agenda:
