PX Jay Madison Says Thank You & Farewell to an Industry Legend, CHOC’s Waldo Romero

On Tuesday, May 7, 2024, a retirement luncheon was held for Mr. Waldo Romero, Vice President of Enterprise Master Planning of Children’s Hospital Orange County. This may not be a name you are familiar with but Murray Company’s PX Jay Madison, VP Virginia Brown, President/CEO Jim DeFlavio and others are acutely and personally aware of the critical role that Waldo has played in the healthcare industry, specifically at CHOC, and in fostering the hospital’s relationship with Murray Company. In fact, PX Jay Madison captures it all as he reflects on his 15-year friendship with Mr. Romero,

“I was honored to take part in such a bittersweet farewell to one of the most honorable and kind-hearted people in this industry that I have had the pleasure of knowing for over 15 years. Mr. Waldo Romero is retiring from his position as Vice President of Enterprise Master Planning at Children’s Hospital of Orange County.

Waldo has put his trust and faith in Murray Company for as many years and we have done our best to return the favor with our dedication and efforts in helping to make CHOC’s dreams a reality. With over a dozen major projects past and present, we continue to help CHOC expand and improve, all for the benefit of the children. Waldo was the cornerstone of this progress and a master at navigating everything from brash contractors to tight budgets to delicate politics, and he always did it with a gentile smile. He will be genuinely missed, and I wish him all the best in his retirement.”
