SoCal’s Edition of Golden Hard Hats, Guest Speakers, and Great Safety Topics at the (SoCal) Annual Safety Meeting

October 25th was the date of SoCal’s Annual Safety Meeting that 255 Murray Company personnel from the office and field attended.  The day started with a breakfast of champions after which Chairman/CEO, Jim DeFlavio, greeted a ready and captive audience.

The agenda for the day was packed with important safety topics.  Guest speaker Richard McElhaney spoke about the “Real Cost of Safety”.  Richard was also the guest speaker at NorCal Safety Meeting the week prior. Did you miss the coverage? You’ll find it here.  Safety Manager Austin DeHart spoke about Pre-Tasking & Workplans.  Christopher Ellis, Ruben Garcia and Marcus Freeland addressed Rigging Safety Planning.  Other topics included onboarding of new employees that Beatrice Denning and Chris Rydgren covered while Tim Seymour and Rex Motzkus discussed Gas Startup and OC.   Corporate Safety Director Justin Myburg discussed Stop Work Authority and other safety related items and ideas after which SoCal President Ryan Cavanaugh wrapped up with closing remarks.
