The DBIA Western Pacific Region Young Professionals and ASHRAE Young Professional (YEA) came together on Wednesday, January 22nd to host an Emotional Intelligence Seminar and they hosted this networking/educational event right here at Murray Company’s corporate headquarters in the John W. Odom Training Center. The presenter was Published Author and Speaker (and “Not Your Typical Engineer”), Karine Leblanc.
DBIA’s mission is to promote the values of design-build project delivery and teaches the effective integration of design and construction services to ensure success for owners and design and construction practitioners. They offer member education/training, online learning programs, networking opportunities like this and more. ASHRAE essentially does the same however targeting HVAC professionals. On their site they state, “The Young Engineers in ASHRAE (YEA) committee shall enhance member benefits for young professional ASHRAE members, 35 years old and younger, by identifying, creating, and supporting activities and services focused on their needs. A primary focus of the committee will be attracting and developing YEA members for future membership and leadership in ASHRAE and the HVAC&R industry.”
Murray Company was thrilled to welcome over 55+ young professionals pursuing connections and exciting careers/growth in this industry. Food & bev was provided by the hosts, and many business cards were exchanged. Murray Company’s William Hearon and Virginia Brown attended the event. Everyone was uber impressed with not only the John W. Odom Training room space but also with the glimpse they got into MC’s vast fabrication yard and fab shops. The response and interest in coming back to tour Murray Company’s facility was tremendous from these eager professionals.
