The glitz, glamour and generosity of Orange County made its way to the star-studded red carpet at the May 17th Annual CHOC Gala. Representing Murray Company among the 1,000+ guests were VP Virginia Brown, PX Jay Madison, Admin Assistant Michele Madison, HVAC Preconstruction Lead Meredith Panitchayangkoon, Senior PM Pete Panitchayangkoon, PM Casey Lanham and her fiancé Nickolas Springer, PM Rosemarie Edquid and Director of Marketing Marta Michel-Lodge and her plus one.
Murray Company was not only a proud event sponsor, but a proud partner of McCarthy Building Companies (at the neighboring table) and CHOC Children’s for well over a decade. Murray Company was involved on the construction of Children’s Hospital Orange County from the original Bill Holmes Tower, the NICU Phase 1 project, the most recent Southwest Tower and several current BHT expansion projects. The extraordinary team at the CHOC Foundation and at CHOC Hospital are indeed “Champions for Children”, raising the necessary funds and support from the community to fuel the magic work they do, day in and day out.
Baseball legend and last year’s MVP, the Dodgers’ 1st baseman Freddie Freeman, was not in attendance, but his wife Chelsea represented the family at this Gala. She spoke from her broken, yet healed heart, about the quality of exceptional care CHOC provided to their 3-year old son, Maximus, who was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome (a rare neurological condition). Under CHOC’s care and that of Dr. Knight & his team, Max is expected to make a full recovery. That evening the Freeman’s made a $1M donation to CHOC.
Country superstar Blake Shelton put on an unforgettable performance while the $7.4M raised will change the outcome for thousands of children in need. Murray Company is honored to be a small part of this great success.

The CHOC Gala is an outdoor event hosted at the Orange Grove of Anaheim behind Angel Stadium (just behind the venue where MC’s 2024 Shareholder Meeting was held). The clouds looked threatening, but mother nature cooperated with the festivities.
