As a prime contractor awarded the plumbing and HVAC scopes on the Los Angeles Convention Center Renovation Project, Murray Company was delighted to accept an invitation from PCL Construction and Webcor, a joint venture, to their Trade Partner Matchmaking and Outreach event. This networking event took place 11 AM – 2 PM on Thursday, January 15th at the Los Angeles Convention Center, the ideal venue.
This dynamic event served as an opportunity for prime contractors to meet with various local business in the community to discuss sub-tier engagement and collaboration opportunities. Beyond the warm welcome, PWJV (the joint venture partners) provided a project overview to the audience members, discussed the prequalification clinic, they hosted a Q & A and set-up industry partner resource tables.
Project Manager Kyle Davis provided valuable insight to all the table visors re: Murray Company’s prequalification process and Murray Company’s specific scope of work on this project. Senior Project Manager Juan Zelada wasn’t able to attend but his name was mentioned often as a valuable resource.
Companies seeking to partner or collab with Murray Company included smaller plumbing/mechanical subs, trash disposal companies, laser scanning/surveying firms like Titan, digital marketing firms and more. All of the firms in attendance had at least 1 of these many certifications, which is their gateway to a potential partnership: Small Business Enterprise (SBE), Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSM), Minority-Owned Business Enterprise (MBE), Women-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE), Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) and others. The common denominator was a shared enthusiasm for the opportunity to work alongside PCL/Webcor on this exciting project in preparation for the 2028 Olympic Games!
