For many years, Murray Company has attended and sponsored the ACE LA/OC Spotlight Awards — an inspiring annual event that brings together more than 300 general contractors, subcontractors, educators, mentors, and exceptional high school students interested in careers in the A/E/C (architecture, construction, and engineering) industry.
The Spotlight Awards celebrate the extraordinary individuals and organizations who actively support the ACE LA/OC Mentor Program, including dedicated teachers, volunteer industry mentors, forward-thinking companies, and ambitious students. Representing Murray Company at this year’s event were Gabriel Hernandez, Marta Michel-Lodge, Tina Hayati, and Patrick Reed. The evening provided an opportunity to reconnect with industry partners and reflect on the tremendous impact ACE has on shaping the next generation of construction professionals.
In fact, since 2002, ACE Los Angeles has connected high school students across Los Angeles and Orange County with industry professionals who volunteer their time and expertise. A few years ago, our very own VP of Estimating and Engineering, Gabriel Hernandez, served as a mentor. Through mentorship, exposure to real-world projects, and scholarship support — totaling more than $2.5 million awarded to date — ACE continues to build meaningful pathways.
