From Nor Cal to the Rams NFL Stadium, our project teams united during OSHA’s National Stand-Down Week. Safety, more specifically fall protection, fall prevention were part of the gossip. Across the nation thousands of project crews did the same.
The goal during National Safety Stand-Down Week is to discuss Falls/Fall Hazards, to reinforce the importance of Fall Prevention and the prevention of these type of accidents at jobsites and in the work place. The goal is keep workers safe!

Please print & post the OSHA 300 and 300A forms on your jobsite between Feb. 1st and April 30th. This is an OSHA requirement for all jobsite and will be cited by OSHA if not posted as required. Thank you!

The annual AGC of California Construction Safety Excellence Awards (CSEA) recognizes construction companies who excel at safety performance. Murray Company placed 2nd in the subcontractor category for over 1M man-hours!
The Kaiser Woodland Hills project team has performed 167K man hours in a live facility implementing extensive upgrades in a hospital that is occupied and full of Kaiser’s patients. To-date there has have been no recordable or lost time injuries. This was cause for a safety luncheon on 8/10.
We kicked off this week with a historic celebration! Monday, July 2nd marked the 5th anniversary of no lost time incidents by our Fab Shop and Facility Crews. This amounts to 435,298 hours of labor without skipping a beat.
Falling shovels, cars swerving on the freeway = dangerous situation. Last week, one of our drivers experienced a frightening and avoidable situation when a shovel feel off the back of a MC Utility Truck. Employing caution and vigilance are our ticket to no recordables.
Safety Stand-Down is a voluntary event for employers to talk directly to employees about safety. On several projects, we held a stand-down by taking a break to focus on “Fall Hazards” and reinforcing the importance of “Fall Prevention”.

We all know the dangers of texting and driving yet despite laws forbidding texting and driving, the general public seems reluctant to follow these admonitions – we continue to get caught red handed! Bottom line – it can wait.
The Engineering Contractors’ Association presented us with two Safety Awards at Saturday’s Installation of Officers Banquet. Since 2014, we have received the Contractor Safety Award and this year too, a senator-signed Certificate was presented to MC.
