We have committee members in every branch of our company, so feel free to ask us any questions you may have. Below you will find a quick introduction about us and a basic outline of how the ESOP benefits you.
Additionally, to kick off our revitalized committee, we’ll be sending out a quick survey in the New Year to hear from you, our fellow business owners! We look forward to making an impact and interacting with you all! You are our drivers of success!
Meet the All-Star ESOP Communication Committee
Hector Lujan Jr., Committee Chair
I’m Hector Lujan Jr., currently serving as the Talent Acquisition Partner going on for the better part of 10 months (and counting). In my free time I enjoy weekend trips to Disneyland with my wife and daughter, experimenting with home-cooked meals, going to concerts and scouting out collectible books to add to my library. Having extensively researched Murray Company as part of my interview process just before recently joining, I was immediately drawn to the track record of incredible projects that we proudly display and the pioneering vision that is a driving force for quality and innovation. ESOP, to me, is a cultural catalyst for promoting recognition, stewardship and community within our business. It motivates me to deliver my best workday in and day out, consider perspectives and interests outside of my own, and proactively seek out ways to support my teammates knowing that everyone’s contributions go to a unified cause. |
Shonte’ Williams, Committee Secretary Hi!! I’m Shonte’ Williams and I have been the certified payroll specialist with Murray for almost 3 years now. In my spare time I love to play basketball, hike, anything in health & wellness and travel. To me, ESOP means coming together as a family to help each other achieve ultimate success no matter what it takes! |
Dan Aguirre, Committee Member I have been with Murray as a project accountant for 1 year. I started working at Murray because I wanted an opportunity to learn more about accounting and to be part of a larger company that worked on cool projects. In my free time I like to go to the gym, cook, travel, and put puzzles together. To me, ESOP is an opportunity to earn more and be part of the bigger picture of a company. It means taking pride in the work we do too and earning that piece of the pie at the end. |
Edgar Belleza, Committee Member Hello, my name is Edgar Belleza. I joined the Murray Company family over a decade ago and have since been a part of the plumbing estimating team. Since my introduction to the industry, it has been an honor to be a part of a company and family that consistently works and proves to be the industry standard for mechanical contractors. As an ESOP company it has given me and our valued team members a unique opportunity to truly take ownership of the work we contribute daily. Collectively we achieve endless career milestones, building countless projects forever fortifying our legacy as one of the greatest teams of all time. |
Nicholas Breuer, Committee Member
Hello! I’m Nicholas Breuer and I am a Project Engineer on the Agilent Endeavor project in Colorado. I started with Murray Company as an intern during my final Summer at Chico State and have been at Murray for the past 2.5 years. Before interning with Murray, I had interned with Kinetics on several bio-pharmaceutical and semi-conductor projects from Montana to the Bay Area. I decided to make the switch to Murray after my last internship in 2021 to gain some new perspective, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision! At Murray, everyone takes pride in their work and wants to deliver the best product possible, something that I had been missing. I like to think that this driven attitude is attributed to having ownership in the company and the products that we deliver. My acquaintances have grown from co-workers into friends, and I truly enjoy helping them create something larger than any one of us could on our own. When I’m not at work you can find me playing disc golf, skiing, riding twisties on my 2000 CBR 600 F4, or dancing. I am grateful to have landed in the Murray ESOP family, and I look forward to many more years of growth with you! |
Ryan Lopes, Committee Member
Hi, I’m Ryan Lopes and have been a Project Manager at Murray for about 4 years. I was drawn to Murray because of the highly technical projects we build, and motivated & engaged employees. In my spare time I enjoy mountain biking, going for runs with my dog, and have recently taken up paragliding. ESOP to me represents a place where people go above and beyond to help their co-workers achieve success, even if that means working outside of your normal responsibilities. |
Chris Gardner, Committee Member Hello, I’m Chris Gardner, Corporate Controller, and working on 19 years of service with Murray Company. After graduating College with a finance degree, I was having a tough time finding a position that didn’t require work experience. At the time, I often visited my Grandparents and luckily my grandmother saw an Ad from Murray in the classified section of the Los Angeles Times for an entry level position that stated, “no experience necessary”. I applied for the position and started my career in May of 2006 having no idea what an ESOP was and how it would eventually change my life forever. Over my tenure at Murray Company, I’ve taken on several positions including overseeing Accounts Receivable, Subcontracts, Joint Venture Financials, and Project Accounting prior to taking over as the Corporate Controller. ESOP’s are truly the American Dream at work as they spread the wealth the company generates back to ALL the employee owners. It doesn’t matter if you are an executive or part of the rank-and-file, you get awarded a piece of the pie for your hard work. Free time is usually spent with my wife trying to raise our two young boys into decent young men without losing too much hair. We will often go on trips to visit family members or to the Eastern Sierras to fish and snowboard in Mammoth / Big Bear. |
Liz Moody, Committee Member Hello! I’m Liz Moody and have been a Project Engineer with Murray for 3 years. I joined Murray fresh out of college and quickly became enamored with construction management through Murray’s commitment to quality and integrity. Working for an employee-owned company has given me the opportunity to be a part of a team where everybody takes ownership of their work and is invested in our shared success. We are all seeking opportunities to help each other out and drive our work to completion. Outside of work I enjoy reading and trying new recipes. |
Melissa Martinez, Committee Member My name is Melissa Martinez, and I’ve been with the company for almost 2 years as an Administrative Assistant in the Contracts Dept. I started off as a temp, and quickly pivoted into securing a full-time role with the company almost 3 months into my assignment. Construction was never on my radar, but working with contracts was. So, placement here was a great way to parlay my experience into a new field. I’ve always loved being part of a creative process, and this industry takes that to another level. Especially when the people around you truly love their craft. In my free time, you can catch me on a softball field, in a Pilates Studio, or sleeping in. For me, being an ESOP’er makes me feel like I have a unique benefit that isn’t extended to just anybody. You see your contributions, and those of your peers, in real time as it’s reflected in our share value. One of the best features of this benefit is that it’s an active function that will only enhance your retirement when you’re ready to take it. |
Diana Tan, Committee Member Northern California Hi. I’m Diana Tan and I work as the Administrative Assistant for NorCal. I’ve been in the company for almost (7) years now. I first started with Murray through an agency. I tried to stay away from any construction firm due to a horrible experience I had with another contractor. However, the moment I stepped foot at the San Leandro office, it was a whole different feeling. The family atmosphere was a welcoming feeling. Working with the company made me feel like I’m part of something big. Though I only work in the office mostly, it still makes me feel like I’m a part of building the future. Something I do in my free time is playing video games (I love RPGs!), writing stories and experiencing nature outdoors. ESOP, for me, is an added and welcomed benefit. It is like another layer of safety net because it helps with employee retirement. etc.ce of the pie at the end. |
Jay Madison, Committee Member Hi, I’m Jay Madison and I am a Project Executive at Murray Company. I have been with Murray for almost 25 years in Operations. I have managed some of the largest and most complex jobs in my tenure. As a manager, my focus has been primarily in healthcare. I have a large family with 5 kids (now all grown) and I enjoy spending as much time with them as I can. I am very fortunate to have been a part of this company from conception of the ESOP program. I have watched our company excel from that point forward. I am convinced that the pride and commitment that comes from ESOP ownership has fostered this amazing growth. |
Please say hello to the ESOP Communication Committee!
