Murray Company’s project team had the opportunity to meet the Los Angeles Mayor, and key stakeholders for a site visit at the D.C. Tillman Advanced Water Purification Facility. The visit focused on showcasing ongoing construction progress, highlighting critical process systems, and reinforcing the project’s role in supporting the City’s long-term water resilience strategy.
During the walkthrough, the team provided an overview of major construction milestones, including process piping installation, structural developments, and coordination efforts across multiple trades. Emphasis was placed on the complexity of the facility, and the collaborative execution required to maintain schedule, safety, and quality standards.
The Mayor engaged directly with field personnel and project leadership, gaining insight into the technical scope and operational benefits of the facility. Discussions also centered on the City’s newly introduced Climate Action Plan, with the project recognized as a key component in advancing sustainable water management. When completed the Advanced Water Purification Facility will purify up to 30 million gallons of water per day — with an ultimate capacity of 45 million gallons per day — to replenish local groundwater and strengthen Los Angeles’ drinking water supply, reducing reliance on imported water and improving environmental outcomes for Los Angeles.
Jeff Hosler reflects, “It was a great experience meeting the Mayor in person.Mayor Karen Bass was thoughtful, inspiring, and impressed with Murray Company’s ability to execute such a challenging project.”
