When our partners at PCL Construction reached out to Murray Company and fellow trade partners looking for support and we gladly answered the call. PCL participated in Canstruction, the Orange County Food Bank’s annual food drive and design competition that challenges teams to turn thousands of cans of food into larger-than-life works of art—all while helping fight hunger in our community.
PCL teamed up with SVA Architects & Design West, and Murray Company enthusiastically did its part by supporting as a Platinum Level Sponsor.
The result? A 5,000-can tribute to the Alien from Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story, that was on display at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa through the month of September. Toy Story fans will immediately recognize the little green character. And if you don’t…well, perhaps it’s time to gather the family for movie night and get acquainted. The Claw awaits!
Murray Company Senior Project Manager Steve Molina, who served as PCL’s point of contact for this donation, shared:
“All proceeds will go to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County as a donation from the OC Healthcare project that we completed last year. If you have time, it would be a good outing to share with young ones who are Toy Story fans.”
A big thank you to PCL Construction, SVA Architects, Design West and everyone involved in bringing this creative effort to life. When it comes to supporting our partners and our community, we’re always ready to go to infinity…and beyond!
And by the way, this structure ended up winning the Best Structure Award at the CAN Do Awards!
CANgratulations to all involved!
