Murray Company was proud to support this year’s Taste for a Cure, now in its 16th year of raising funds and awareness in the fight against breast cancer. Founded by Michelle Buessing, wife of Hensel Phelps Regional Vice President Damian Buessing, the organization was created with one simple purpose: to support breast cancer patients, survivors and their families. This year’s event took place on Friday, September 11, at the beautiful Rancho Las Lomas in Silverado, Orange County.
As a longtime partner of Hensel Phelps, with whom Murray Company shares numerous projects throughout Southern California, supporting a cause so meaningful to the Buessing family was a natural extension of our relationship and our shared commitment to giving back to the communities we serve.
Over the past 16 years, Taste for a Cure and Team Michelle have made a meaningful impact in the fight against breast cancer, raising significant funds in support of research, patient care and awareness.
Representing Murray Company at this year’s event were Jay and Michele Madison, Mario and Jessica Santilli, and Marta Michel-Lodge & KJ Lodge, who joined more than 250 guests in support of a shared mission and cause.
The evening featured entertainment, an impressive display of raffle and auction items, including a couples’ getaway to Barbados, and several creative opportunities for guests to contribute throughout the night. More importantly, the event brought together friends, families and industry partners around a cause that continues to impact so many lives. Team Michelle later shared that $158,000 was raised at this year’s event and 97 Acts of Love Gifts were given to Survivors.
The support continues on Saturday, October 10th, when Team Michelle participates in the UCI Anti-Cancer Challenge in Irvine. Supporters are encouraged to join the cause by donating or participating alongside hundreds of others who will walk, run or cycle distances ranging from 14 to 100 miles in support of cancer research.
